We want our work to be genuinely useful at a kitchen table, on a house-viewing trip or when an unfamiliar bit of paperwork arrives. Everything essential to ordinary research remains available without a paid membership.

Corrections matter more than pride.
When an important fact changes or we discover a mistake, we intend to correct it, record the change and identify the source. Our live editorial reporting channel lets you flag errors or ask a question with a submission reference.
Free to read does not mean hidden incentives.
Running a publication costs money. We may fund it through clearly identified business advertising, appropriate sponsorship and separately purchased PluginPip Ltd technology services. None of these will buy favourable independent editorial coverage or restrict the ordinary reader's access.
A directory listing or a company registration check will never be presented as proof that a provider is trustworthy, insured or suitable for your job.
We do not sell immigration, legal, medical or financial advice. Readers should check important decisions against current official authorities and suitably qualified independent professionals.
Sources, dates and honest uncertainty.
For consequential factual guidance, we aim to show the primary source and a meaningful review date. A story about one resident is not evidence that a whole village has a large British population. A modelled weather estimate is not a reading from a local weather station.
We use original writing and genuine appropriately licensed photographs. If a photograph illustrates a region rather than the specific place being discussed, it must be labelled accordingly.
Corrections and reader questions can be submitted through our live feedback form. We record submissions and provide a reference. An email notification is attempted, but email delivery and a personal response are not guaranteed.
